Our advocacy specialists have influence with the Oklahoma State Legislature and the state’s many regulatory agencies, working for the good of the industry and keeping you informed of decisions being made that will affect you.
"Our company, as part of the ORA, represents a force that can have a huge impact on future legislation as it applies to the business environment at the local as well as the state and federal levels. It will require that we act as one as we move forward and strive to protect The Free Enterprise System that has made Oklahoma and the U.S. so great!"
Hal Smith, President Hal Smith Restaurant Group, Inc.
"The very nature of our business suggests constant scrutiny by local, state and federal government (after all we are in the business of feeding America). As such, we need to be aware of any and all issues that matters to our business. The Oklahoma Restaurant Association serves as the gatekeeper on all these issues. ORA works on our behalf to frame, articulate and present issues to relevant agencies and legislators. This we can not do as individuals, but as members of the ORA we can speak with one strong authoritative voice for the benefit of all. At the end of the day, it is a very cost effective and powerful way to let our voices be heard."
Members of the ORA will come together for Hospitality Day at the Capitol, where we will spend time speaking to legislators about issues facing our industry, and then culminate in a fabulous reception with more than 600 members and legislators at the Chevy Bricktown Events Center.
