Some counties or municipalities in Oklahoma, require one manager or server per restaurant property to be a Certified Food Manager (CFM). ServSafe Foodservice Manager is the leading food safety certification course in the nation. Currently, this is a requirement in the City of Stillwater, Cleveland County, Oklahoma County, and Tulsa County. Check your local municipality for specific requirements. Certification must be renewed before expiration in required cities and counties. If you have never had a license or your license has expired, the ORA can help!
CFPM requirements depend upon what county your establishment is located in. However, it is good practice to have at least one certified food protection manager per shift. Whenever the CFPM is not on premise, they must designate a Person In Charge (PIC) and train them in food safety rules – the PIC must have the same knowledge as the CFPM and be able to demonstrate that knowledge
A course is required for first time certifications but exceptions are made for those recertifying as long as your current certification is not more than 30 days expired. If a certificate is more than 30 days expired you will have to take the full course again.
In order to get your results, you will need to go to servsafe.com and create an account using the same email you used on your answer sheet the day of the exam & your exam session number. Results are usually posted 5-7 business days after you’ve taken the exam. A certificate will not be available if you failed your exam. For further assistance please call the ORA office 405-942-8181.

ServSafe Manager online takes 6-8 hours to complete, but you may log in and out of it as many times as needed over a 90-day period. There are a few options – online training only (you would still need to take a proctored exam) or the online training bundle that includes the online course and remote proctored exam.
Any staff who handles or prepares food in any way counts as a food handler. This includes bartenders who cook a pizza or servers who plate salads, ladle soup into bowls or cut and plate desserts. If you have more than five food handlers on your entire staff (not just on a single shift), you must take an approved certification exam to renew your CFPM status in Wisconsin and the small operator renewal is not an option for you.
